We are now taking bookings (maximum six people) for our new London workshop in Chelsea!
After a successful half-day workshop there last year, I quickly realised that the area is the perfect ‘hunting ground’ for street photographers. It’s an area I used to live in and know well – it’s rich in photographic opportunity and character, and has great potential for shooting some really distinctive images. The workshop will take in Belgravia, Chelsea, Knightsbridge and South Kensington. But there’s a twist . . .
This workshop differs slightly from our usual format, in that it will be assignment-based. To help participants get into the mindset of working in distinct street photography ‘projects’, you will be asked to shoot to a brief – a news assignment – working as a photojournalist and aiming to produce a cohesive set of images which tell a story. Each participant will be asked to submit their six best images from the day for individual critique and for inclusion in a photobook to be produced over the summer. You will receive a free copy of the book and your images will be fully credited to you.
We will meet near South Kensington tube station for a thorough briefing at 0930 and, as usual, the ‘formal’ part of the day ends at around 4.30-4.45 with a drink.
