Do you fancy a real challenge? Street photographers from across the UK are expected to descend on London during the weekend of 3-4 September to take part in THE street photography competition of the year.
We are organising Monopolising London 2016, an event whereby street photographers are challenged to shoot their way around the 40 ‘squares’ of a Monopoly board.
After a briefing, participants will need to plan the most effective route, either individually or in groups, to ensure that all the squares are covered; they will be expected to produce a street photograph representing each of the 40 squares. A judging panel will select the three best pictures representing each square, and these will for the basis for a photo book, ‘Monopolising London 2016′.
The photographer who submits the best panel of images will be invited to join a new street photography collective, Street2020. There will be an after-party event in central London the the Sunday evening, where photographers will have the chance to share experiences and to network.
Getting round the board and finding all the locations is a tough challenge in itself, but taking a compelling street image at each point will test photographers’ creativity and their observational skills.
Participation costs £15 and everybody is welcome, whatever their level of experience or gear. You can register for the event HERE.
