Venice Street Photography Workshops

A unique blend of street, travel & documentary photography

We’re the Venice specialists! Brian runs photography workshops in Venice every February, May, October and November. You can join a group (maximum six participants) or enjoy a private workshop (for individuals or small groups of family or friends).

We’ll spend much of our time together exploring the real, hidden Venice away from the tourists and into the area where the locals live, work and play. Our Venice workshops combine street shooting with elements of documentary and travel photography, with expert guidance all the way.

Private Workshops

For individuals and small groups or family or friends, from 1 to 5 days. Also private workshops for camera clubs and associations.

We’ll spend much of our time off the beaten track, exploring the quieter side of Venice, away from the crowds. Your photographic record of Venice won’t just be theĀ tourist icons!

Whilst street photography will be at the heart of your workshop, we’ll teach you to incorporate elements of documentary and travel photography into your work, offering a new way of seeing the world.

Your course leader, Brian Lloyd Duckett, know Venice well; you’ll have not only professional street and documentary photographer but also an expert guide to this amazing city.

Maximum group size is six. Your workshop startsĀ on the first evening with a ‘get to know you’ dinner in a traditional Venetian trattoria, before spending the next two days together exploring the city.

If you would like to book a bespoke workshop – whether just for you or for a small private group – this can be arranged at any time. private workshops can be booked for 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 days.

Everyone has different tastes and budgets and we’ve found that most participants like to organise their own flights and accommodation. Of course, we’re happy to offer advice – just ask if you need ideas!

I arranged a couple of days in Venice with Brian at relatively short notice and the experience was excellent. Brian’s approach is knowledgeable, calm and quietly influential, adapting his style to your experience and what you want to get out of the time he spends with you. He’s quick to point out interesting possibilities and the importance of patience when a location has both interest and potential.
Importantly, if you’re spending time on a one-to-one basis, Brian is good at being in tune with you – whether chatting about photography and life, or walking along quietly identifying photo opportunities. Reflecting afterwards I recognised that I learnt more than I realised. Not necessarily big learning points but a number of small things that when put together I know will make me a better street photographer. Would I book more sessions with Brian? Absolutely – I recommend him and StreetSnappers without hesitation.
