Why choose StreetSnappers?
-
1. Learn with a street photography specialist
You’ll be spending your day with Brian Lloyd Duckett, a full-time professional street photographer and photojournalist with many years’ experience in this field. His teaching style is relaxed, engaging and inspiring. Discover Brian’s tips, deep insights and tricks of the trade!
-
2. Explore different styles of street photography
You’ll learn about three very different approaches to street photography and will have the opportunity to try them all. Whatever your level of experience, we’ll help you develop your skills in all three areas. We are focused on helping you find a clear and distinctive voice.
-
3. You'll be in a small group (maximum 6 students)
We believe that street photography is best taught in very small groups. A maximum of 6 participants on our workshops means lots of individual attention and hands-on coaching from your course leader, Brian Lloyd Duckett – both in the ‘classroom’ and out on the streets.
-
4. Build your confidence and conquer your fears
We can all be confident street photographers! Brian will coach you in techniques to maximise your confidence and ease your concerns about shooting strangers on the street - as well as coaching you in the key legal and ethical considerations of street photography.
-
5. Learn to take distinctive and meaningful street images
We’ve all seen boring, pointless street images of a person standing in a streak of sunlight, walking past some street art or sitting in a cafe. Our workshops will help take your image making to the next level with potent, purposeful, impactful imagery.
-
6. Learn how to develop street photography projects
Never feel ‘lost’ again! A key part of our methodology is to encourage you to shoot projects, bringing a real focus and a sense of purpose to your work – whilst finding your ‘voice’ and developing your style. Shooting with a tangible goal is a game-changer for most people!
-
7. Learn to behave and think like a street photographer
Discover how to be streetwise; become proficient at ‘reading the streets’ and learn how to really see and observe, in tune with the rhythm and pace of the streets and being able to blend in. Brian will help you develop the street photographer’s mindset with a robust pschological approach.
-
8. Join the best street photography community!
Following your workshop you’ll be invited to join the StreetSnappers Street Photography Collective for critique, discussion, regular challenges, inspiration, exhibitions, publications and meet-ups. It’s a friendly, warm and inclusive street photography club.
