Venice Carnevale, 2024
The Venice carnival - ‘Carnevale’ - is a bizarre spectacle which takes place each February. Whilst it’s a magnet for photographers, most of whom take portraits of people in costume, it provides a great opportunity for street photographers. I try to avoid the ‘obvious’ carnival shots, preferring to shoot the offbeat, the whimsical, the quirky - the ‘unusual in the usual’.
