Pictures I’m pleased with
We all have pictures we’re particularly pleased with and I find it interesting that this pleasure sometimes comes long after taking the picture. Here’s a case in point. I took this outside the new library in Birmingham a couple of years ago and thought nothing of it. However now, having given it a little breathing space, it’s a picture I’m really pleased with.
I like the simplicity, the sense of mischief, the playfulness and the connection between the word ‘ping’ and the deflated lady. And I think it proves the point that street photography doesn’t always need to involve people. It’s not a Pullitzer prize-winner, but I like it - and sometimes we need to convince ourselves that that’s all that matters!
