Zine of the Week - from Marco Sandner

I see lots of great zines (please keep sending them in!) and the one which caught my eye recently was this one, by Marco Sandner from Cologne, Germany.

I did a one-to-one workshop with Marco around the time of the Queen’s death in September, during which time Marco was in the UK for 4-5 days. We discussed street photography projects and Marco set about using this momentous turning point in history as the basis for a project. During that period, London was saturated with references to the Queen so we knew there was plenty of material for a project.

Given that he had to work withing a very short time-frame of just a few days, I think Marco did a remarkable job with his first zine and I was quite blown away when it popped through my letterbox. It would have been easy to fall into the trap of shooting a collection of very ‘samey’ images but I think Marco did well both in the variety of imagery in the project and also his sensitive treatment of the subject matter.

You can buy a copy of Marco’s zine from his website (where you’ll also find his links to Instagram etc).
